"Small Business" definition debated by US SBA
In the April 26 Federal Register (attached), the US Small Business Administration (SBA) proposed new rules to retain or increase the employee-based size standards governing the term “small business.” Comments are requested by June 27. SBA proposes to increase size standards for 150 industries and retain the current size standards for 282 industries, as presented in Table 11, pages 24809-12. The standard for sawmills and wood preservation would increase from 500 to 550 (NAICS Codes 321113 & 321114), and for pesticide manufacturing from 1,000 to 1,150 (code 325320).
