Vermont Wood Works Council Internship
Overview
The Woodworking Internship Program in Vermont is a paid internship program that provides hands-on experience in woodworking and furniture making. The internship is open to anyone who is interested in beginning a career in woodworking and any shop that is associated with the Vermont Wood Works Council.
Program Benefits
Employers will be reimbursed up to $3,600.00 for an intern during a period of up to 8 weeks and reimbursed by a shop that is a member of The Vermont Wood Works Council. Participants will gain hands-on experience in woodworking and furniture making by learning from experienced members of the field. Some internships have the potential to lead to a full-time job.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be 18 years or older, interested in woodworking or furniture making as a career, must have less than one year of previous woodworking experience, and must meet the physical demands of the internship.
Program Structure
Interns will apply to specific company internship programs. Once accepted by a company, the intern will spend, up to, 8 weeks doing rotations at that woodworking company, emphasizing hands-on experience learning to build.
