VWWC Internship Program: Funded Talent for Your Woodshop
Looking to grow your team, invest in the next generation of woodworkers, or simply get some extra hands on deck this season? The Vermont Wood Works Council is offering a limited-time, federally funded internship opportunity for member businesses. We’ll reimburse you up to $3,600 per intern for four full-time weeks of work—and you choose who you hire.
This is a low-risk, high-reward way to meet staffing needs, explore potential new hires, and support the future of Vermont woodworking. Whether your shop is growing, you're approaching retirement, or you're just swamped with work, this program can help—but funds must be used before May 2026.
Benefits for Your Business:
- Get fully reimbursed (up to $3,600)—you hire, we cover the cost.
- No long-term commitment, just four weeks to test the waters.
- Support your current team by adding temporary help when you need it most.
- Mentor someone new to the trade, from high school grads to career changers.
- Help solve our sector's labor shortage by introducing more people to woodworking careers.
- Build internal leadership by letting experienced staff train and mentor.
- Boost visibility and pride in your craft, while contributing to a stronger statewide network.
This grant-funded program ends in May 2026—don’t miss out on your chance to take part.
